Hungarian police assembled prior to surrounding the Röszke reception centre, in an attempt to stop refugees from leaving on their own without registration. Refugees, most from Syria, simply walked through a hole in the border fence with Serbia by the hundreds on Sunday, only to be stopped by police and held in a field a kilometre away. The official border reception centres are full and refugees must camp on the ground, dependent mostly on food donated by volunteer groups
