A young syrian refugee with an orange raincoat under her coat, with a column of refugees and migrants getting onto buses for onward transport to Opatovic Transit Center 12 kilometers away. This is the first transport during their journey through the Balkans that they have not had to pay for.
Zoran Markovic, the police commander in charge of the team organising this process was himself a refugee during the war in the Balkans.
' If something like that happens to you, you can never forget it .... I feel that I am here to help these people who flee today. They all have the same problem, no matter if they come from Syria, Iraq or Afghanistan. They flee the war. Most of them don’t know where they will end up'
