Chairman Han-Ulrich Doerig dominating the annual shareholder's meeting of Credit Suisse. The bank was heavily criticized by its shareholders at the massive scale of bonuses totaling CHF3 billion paid out to senior management, but managed to hold off a revolt, unlike its larger rival UBS. The Swiss parliament is now however considering laws to limit such outrageous bonus payments, something formerly unthinkable in the country. Not only that, the National Bank has imposed tighter a tighter fiscal regime for banks than those agreed internationally.
