Syrian refugees cooking maize scavenged from nearby fields in the shade of trees not far from the Hungarian frontier. Refugees continue to arrive in large numbers, crossing the border from Serbia into Hungary along an old railway line, through a gap in the new border fence. . There is some degree of fear amongst the refugees, about fingerprinting by Hungarian authorities, leading some refugees to return to Serbia, and a number wait on that side of the border for nightfall in the hope of then passing through unseen.
