Still hanging after six weeks, a forgotten coat. Abandoned UN offices, empty corridors, locked rooms, the United Nations in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic. The Palais des Nations, the United Nations Office at Geneva, with more than 1,600 staff, normally a focal point for multilateral diplomacy, holding more than 8,000 meetings a year, one of the busiest conference centres in the world, and the biggest duty stations outside of United Nations headquarters in New York, deserted. The palais has been silent since 16th March.
