Day11_Hungary131.jpg
Hungarian police at 17:30 on 14th September controlling the gap in Hungary's recently strengthened razorwire border fence along an old railway line - blocking the route to refugees. Many thousands of whom have used this crossing point to enter Hungary in recent weeks. The numbers increased massively prior to the deadline of thenext day, 15th September announced by the Hungarian authorities to seal its fence, and close so-called illegal crossing points, as well as bringing in heavily restrictive terms for refugees wishing to enter Hungarian territory. This closeure of the gap several hours early was unexpected. Until midnight refugees continued to be allowed to enter the coutry via a nearby official border cossing, and then bused without registration direct to the local train statin at Röszke, where special tarins were laid on to take then directly to the Austrian border.
